While getting the delivery of a new car after a waiting period of months is not that uncommon in the automobile industry, receiving a damaged unit certainly is.
In a bizarre incident, a man got the delivery of his brand new Ford Bronco in a damaged condition. However, the issue is that the brand-new car had dents on the body which were incurred during the transit. Bronco had made quite some headlines as a capable off-roading SUV at relatively affordable prices. Rivalling the likes of the Jeep Wrangler, people took an instant liking to the robust design and powerful engines leading to a lot of bookings.

Delivery of a Damaged Ford Bronco
The incident has been reported from Kentucky, USA. As per the information shared by a certain Laurence Hartnett on Facebook, he ordered the Bronco back in March 2022. The potential owner had to wait a long time due to the delays caused by chip shortage issues across the global automobile industry. The production of almost all cars was hampered during this time everywhere in the world. Finally, after overcoming this issue, the delivery day arrived in September 2022.

However, the owner was left shocked to find out about major damage to the top rear section of the SUV. The images clearly show that the entire roof area has been affected. According to the information in the video, the truck in which the SUV was being transported carelessly took the truck through an underpass which didn’t have sufficient clearing. As a result, the top section of the truck hit the bridge above it causing damage to the cars inside too. Needless to say, this was not the fault of the buyer.

Cooperative Dealership
Thankfully, the dealership was cooperative. They re-ordered the Bronco for the customer at the price that they have originally agreed upon for the 2022 model. Now the owner will have to wait again for the 2023 model but with the old prices. This is a great example of how Ford treats its valued customers. It is a lesson that other carmakers should learn from Ford and also how the dealerships should handle the issues of the customers, especially where the customers are not at fault.
