Check out this accident involving a Ford Aspire and a truck where both of them had a head on collision. The impact is huge but the passengers are all safe.
Ford Aspire is among the safest sedans of India receiving a 4-star safety rating. The stage is shared by Honda Amaze in its segment as well. We have seen many examples depicting the strong build quality of Figo, Aspire, Freestyle and even Ecosport. Here’s another example where this Aspire was involved in a very serious accident but all passengers walked out safely.
Looks like the Ford Aspire was coming either from the wrong side or entered the wrong lane while overtaking. The accident looks like it occurred at a high speed because of the impact. The driver lost control probably and had a head on collision with an oncoming truck. Due to the height of the truck, the sedan hit the bumper of the truck and almost got stuck under the truck.

The full front portion of Aspire has been damaged. The impact has also reached the engine bay as most of the components have been damaged. The bonnet, bumpers and side fenders have crumpled up. Even the alloys and chassis have received some impact, the latter twisted. Most of the impact, although, has been limited just to the front and that’s it. The airbags have been deployed and that’s another reason why all the passengers inside walked with some minor injuries.
Aspire boasts of first-in-class six airbags for the top-end Titanium Plus variant. So, this variant has front, knee and side airbags which makes it very safe. Other safety bits include rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, traction control and ABS with EBD. The base and mid-spec trims go away with dual airbags as standard fitment. Anyways, its crumple zones are well focused in terms of safety.
Aspire is now BS6 compliant running on a 1.2 Litre three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5 Litre turbodiesel engine. The petrol motor is good for 96 PS and 120 Nm of peak torque. The oil burner produces 100 PS and 215 Nm. Both the engines come paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox without the option of an automatic transmission. Prices start off at Rs 6.69 Lakhs up to Rs 8.29 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
