The last news which we covered on Force Motors was about the company’s plan of introducing a new MPV based on Mercedes Viano and as usual the same has been spotted recently. Readers who are not familiar about this news, let me tell you that Force is going to plant an assembly line for a new MPV. The same will be based on the Mercedes Viano, a popular car in International markets.
Force Motors aims at delivering a Viano derived MPV at a much lesser price to the Indian customers, eventually bringing the brand into the limelight. For this the company, before the launch of Force One, had also signed a deal with Mercedes-Benz for procurement of engines and Viano’s platform.
Lately a Viano resembling vehicle with literally no camouflage but covered badges was spotted but surprisingly it looked like a complete Merc package with no indications of any efforts poured in by Force. Since the latter has announced of providing the Viano, which comes around Rs.60 Lakh, at a much lesser price, probably between Rs. 11 – 15 Lakh.
This means that a lot of hard work and localization is needed in order to bring down the price of this car to the aimed value.
As far as the engine is concerned, Force Motors is not much bothered as the Force Viano will equip the same 2.2 L CRDI diesel engine as coming with the Force One SUV.
