The globally acclaimed 6-seat electric SUV finally makes its way into our market
The Kia EV9 electric SUV has been launched in India. It is the flagship offering from the Korean car marque internationally. The Hyundai Motor Group (consisting of Hyundai, Kia and Genesis) has been having a dominant time in the global EV market in the last few years. Its E-GMP-based electric cars have struck a chord with potential buyers in many international markets. Even in India, the first batch of the Kia EV6 flew off the shelves in no time. Aiming to replicate that popularity and success, Kia has introduced the 3-row electric SUV in our market. Here are all the details.
Kia EV9 Electric SUV Launched – Price
The Kia EV9 comes in a single fully loaded GT-Line trim. It has a price tag of a jaw-dropping Rs 1.30 Crore, ex-showroom. That is more than loads of luxury electric vehicles from the German car marques. However, we must understand that this is the flagship electric offering from the Korean auto giant globally. Also, since it is a full import, the prices were always bound to be exorbitant. You can get the EV9 in many colour options including Snow White Pearl, Ocean Blue, Pebble Gray, Panthera Metal and Aurora Black Pearl.

Kia EV9 Electric SUV – Specs
The 6-seat electric SUV uses the immensely successful E-GMP architecture from the Hyundai Motor Group. It boasts a colossal battery pack with a capacity of 99.8 kWh. This feeds two electric motors which constitutes an all-wheel-drive configuration. The total power and torque outputs stand at a healthy 384 PS and 700 Nm, respectively. With this, the large EV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. That is extremely quick for a vehicle with such dimensions. On a single charge, the ARAI MIDC-certified range is 561 km. Expect a lower number in real-world conditions. It uses 20-inch alloy wheels.
