Kia has rolled off the first Seltos of the production facility in Anantpur and Kia say that the deliveries will conmmence on August 22 when the Seltos is officially launched.
Kia Motors have received an overwhelming response for the Seltos, so much so that they have already crossed over 23,000 bookings in just three weeks. Kia have already rolled out the first production Seltos out of its Anantpur plant in Andhra Pradesh and they have also commenced with the mass production of the Seltos.
Kia’s facility in Anantpur has a annual production capacity of 300,000 units and Kia says that they are prepared to see a rapid increase in their bookings. Should there be too much demand, Kia says that they are still prepared to give delivery timely of vehicles without too much of waiting period. Kia will start deliveries of the Seltos on August 22, pan India, on the same day when it is launched.
Speaking at the roll out ceremony, Kookhyun Shim, Managing Director and CEO of Kia Motors India said, “The roll-out of the first Seltos is an emotional moment for all of us, especially for the people at the plant as we worked together, relentlessly to build the future of Kia Motors in India. The invaluable contribution made by the government of Andhra Pradesh has enabled us to achieve our target of manufacturing the Seltos in record time. The first Seltos is the symbol of our promise and commitment of Kia to the Indian market.”

Kia have already set up 192 dealerships strategically spread across 160 cities across the entire country. These dealerships will also feature Kia’s internet of things (IOT) theme or the Kia link App which basically allows all purchasing and after sales services to be availed by the app.

The dealerships are also offering the Kia Seltos to the customers for a test drive in some of the select dealerships. The response has been immense and a lot of interested buyers and enthusiasts were seen flocking to the Kia dealerships to check out the car in person. The Kia Seltos is expected to be priced between Rs. 10-16 lakhs and it will take on the likes of the MG Hector, Tata Harrier and the Hyundai Creta.
