Fiat has designed an all new sedan called the Fiat Viaggio (means Fiat Voyage in English) and it is the first Fiat-Chrysler twin project with world class quality and refinements levels. The Fiat Viaggio is based on CUSW (Compact US Wide) architecture which is the most advanced architecture in the Fiat group on which popular cars like Dodge Dart is based on. This architecture is derived from compact architecture which was originally developed for icon car Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
The Viaggio has been designed to strike a tight balance between critical factors like power, fuel economy, sophistication, technology, precise handling and drivability and stunning Italian exteriors.

Fiat is extremely content with the production version of its latest sedan, Fiat Viaggio. The car was specifically developed for the Chinese market, however surprisingly a test mule of the same has been spotted in Turin, Italy clearly hinting that Fiat could launch the car in the European market.

Fiat does not own much market share in China and the sole reason for launching Viaggio was to increase its market share in the land of the dragon. Fiat has tied up with China’s Guangzhou to produce the Viaggio at GAC-Fiat production facility in Changsa. Viaggio will be Fiat’s first locally produced vehicle in China.
As far as the Italian market is concerned, for the past five years Fiat hasn’t added any all-new model to its line-up and the Viaggio could be the perfect car to launch at this point in time as the next generation models of Fiat Grande Punto and Fiat Linea are three years away.
For the Indian market, Fiat is focusing more on establishing its dealership network and not on launching any new models. But in the long run, maybe after 2 to 3 years we can expect this car to hit the Indian shores. We will bring you more updates on Viaggio stay tuned for more.
