Fiat has launched it popular hatchback Fiat Grande Punto in India two years back in 2009, the Punto was well received by the automobile enthusiast and Fiat fans who admire Fiat’s design and refined handling. The Grande Punto seems like a bit aged in front of the refreshed and modern hatchbacks like the Hyundai i20, the upcoming Maruti Swift 2011 and is loosing out on sales gradually. To give it a boot, Fiat will replace Indian Grande Punto with new refreshed Fiat Punto Evo in India very soon. The new avatar of Fiat Punto Evo looks very modern and styling compared with the existing Grande Punto.
The exterior gets a facelift at the front bumper, fog lamps, and a horizontal chrome strip jus merging with the top of the new Fiat Logo in the middle. The rear has also been facelifted to make it look more pleasing to eyes, but overall, the iconic shape of Punto is intact which can be identified well from a distance.
On the interiors also, the Punto Evo is expected to come at par with the modern gadgetry, comfort and convenience features available in the modern hatchbacks of the current generation. The dashboard is expected to get a makeover with the new central console, enhanced instrument panel, better seat upholstery and improved design on the inside. The model to be launched in India will be slightly different from global models of Punto Evo as it will be re-touched to comply with Indian needs.
The engine is expected to also be re-mapped or improved upon in performance by incorporating technology improvements from the award winning Fiat Multi-Air Engine which has won many titles in the global engine awards. The news must be exciting for the Fiat Fans in India. We are also excited about the launch and will keep an eye on the developments on the same.
