Fiat Linea 125 S Features
Along with the increase in power output, Fiat has also added some new features to the Linea range. These include –
- 5-inch Touchscreen infotainment system with navigation
- Reverse parking camera
- Ambient lighting
- Cruise Control
The addition of the aforementioned features brings it at par with its competitors, something that could help the Linea’s cause.
Fiat Linea 125 S Rivals
Like the outgoing Linea T-Jet, the 125 S will continue to rival the likes of the –
Fiat Linea 125 S Exterior Design
Visually, the Linea 125 S is no different from the model that has been on sale in India for a while now. It gets the same beautiful Italian exterior featuring a chrome rich nose and an attractive posterior. At 4596 mm, it is the longest sedan in its segment and also boasts a class-leading ground clearance of 190 mm. The only addition is the 125 S badging on the boot. Although the Linea is still a good looking car, it has been around a bit too long. A more comprehensive update or a new model altogether will help Fiat more than just mechanical updates. Also, the 125 S on display at the Auto Expo had black alloy wheels and minimal chrome all around. It went well with the Linea 125 S’ sporty intentions and we wish Fiat had given the production-spec model the same treatment.
Fiat Linea 125 S Interior Design
The interiors, too, remain the same save for the addition of a 5-inch touchscreen. Fiat has also added ambient lighting to the Linea’s interior to make it a better place to be in. These additions certainly add some appeal to the cabin of the Linea. While we do like the dashboard layout that made its debut with the Linea facelift a few years back, it is starting to feel old now.
It should be noted that there have been reports of Fiat working on bringing the Tipo/Egea sedan to India. If it does make it to India, the Egea will replace the Linea, most likely. However, there has been no confirmation of the same and till a replacement comes along, the current Linea will continue to be sold in India. The launch of the 125 S points to the fact that Fiat might continue with this model for at least another year and a half. Again, darker interior tones would have worked really well here.
Fiat Linea 125 S Engine and Transmission
The major talking point of the Linea 125 S is the increase in power output. It now stands at 125 PS, up by about 11 PS over the Linea T-Jet. Torque figures haven’t been disclosed yet. We expect a small rise in that department as well. Transmission duties will continue to be handled by the 5-speed manual gearbox we have seen in the Linea till now. As far as mileage is concerned, it will be around the 15 kpl mark. The increase in power should translate to a reduction in the 0-100 km/h time and an increase in top speed. Our guess is that the new Fiat Linea 125 S has a top speed of 205 KMPH. The car should be sufficiently capable of dismissing 100 KMPH from a standstill in less than 10 seconds.
