“Ferrari going hybrid” does this surprises you? Well if it does then you better be, because might reveal its new Hybrid version of the successful Ferrari 599 GTB Sports Car at the 2010 Geneva International Motor Show in March.
The step taken by Ferrari to launch its new Ferrari Hybrid car does not sound much surprising if we look from the point of view of other global majors bringing their Hybrid cars into the limelight. And if does not surprise people much then Ferrari soon will unveil its 599 GTB hybrid for its first appearance to start a new era for this car manufacturer to feature a with a gas or electric power train with intentions for public use.
Ferrari Hybrid Specifications
A set of highly efficient Lithium Ion Batteries coupled with electric motor at the rear trans-axle is what this car will sport inside its chassis. The fuel consumption will be reduced by 35%with the fact that the car’s electrified prop shaft will develop its maximum torque at zero rpm and this reduction could roughly make the car travel a 100km in every 17 liters. The car will also feature KERS (KINETIC ENERGY RECOVERY SYSTEM) which was developed in the 2009 season along with brake regeneration system, start/ stop technology and electric boost.
