The Punch EV has shifted to a dedicated pure EV architecture, offering potential buyers a choice between two battery pack options – a 25 kWh and a 35 kWh. The smaller battery pack provides a range of 315 km (MIDC), while the larger one extends the range to an impressive 421 km on a single charge. These batteries are paired with two e-Drive options – a 60 kW (80 hp) PMSM AC generating 114 Nm of torque, and a 90 kW (120 hp) PMSM AC with peak power and torque of 190 Nm, resulting in a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 140 km/h.
Both the battery pack and electric motor are rated IP67, ensuring resistance to water and dust. For added assurance, there is an 8-year or 1,60,000 km warranty. In the Long Range (LP) version, buyers have the option of selecting either a 3.3 kW or a 7.2 kW AC fast charger, as well as a 50 kW DC fast charger. With the latter, the EV can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 56 minutes. It retails between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh, ex-showroom.

Author’s Note
Cricketers breaking glass of cars parked outside the boundary line is not uncommon. Cricket is a sport where we are used to such situations right from our childhood. I am sure we all have played cricket in congested spaces around our homes. Hence, the cases of players breaking the glass windows of neighbours are rather common. Thankfully, we don’t see such instances in professional cricket matches that often. But there is always some excitement when it does happen. We hope that the player doesn’t have to bear the expenses for this.
