Mahindra earlier confirmed the launch date of electric XUV300 for 2020, which has now been pushed back to the first/second quarter of 2022.
Upcoming BS-6 norms are taking a toll on every automaker’s plans for next year. The latest victim is Mahindra which has now delayed the launch of the Electric XUV300. The E-SUV will now be launched in the first six months of 2022.
The company is also launching the Electric KUV100 in January 2020. Earlier, Mahindra had planned to launch the E-KUV100 in June 2019 and the E-XUV300 by the second half of 2020. However, the expenses of BS-6 transformation has forced the automaker to delay the launch plans.
The electric Mahindra XUV300 will use a 40 kWh battery pack, that will pump out around 130 BHP. The total driving range offered will be around 300 kms, which should come down to 200-220 kms in real-world driving scenario.

The EV will continue to host features like electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, all-wheel disc brakes, leather upholstery, LED projector headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lights and other features from the mid-spec and top-spec variants.
Mahindra plans to put the E-XUV300 against the likes of Electric Tata Nexon, which is being unveiled next month. Tata claims to offer a 300 km range on the Nexon and it will be priced in the 15-20 Lakhs range as well.
Mahindra will also equip the XUV300 with fast-charging capabilities. We are expecting the manufacturer to offer an AC home-charger free of cost and keep the DC fast charger as optional equipment. It will also offer a good warranty for the electric motor and battery pack.
