People drive on the left side of the road, just like in most British Territories. The units of distance is miles and the speed is described in miles per hour. Also, if you are enrolled in the learner’s driving license in your home country, you can’t apply for the regular license in the Cayman Islands.

Written Test and Practical Test
After getting the PR, you need to start from scratch again. It includes going for the written test and the practical test. However, if you do it within the first 6 months of getting the PR, you will not need the practical test. The examination fee is CI$25. The transfer fee will cost you CI$50 and you can go for 3, 5 or 10 years and the additional fee will depend on that. Typically, the expatriates opt for a 3-year period but you can choose as per your need. This is how you can get a Cayman Islands driving license.
