A popular digital artist has devised a virtual rendition of the Mahindra XUV400 facelift and christened it XUV4XO. As you would already know, this is evidently inspired by the latest XUV3XO on which it is based. Mahindra has done a commendable job of converting its regular ICE model (XUV300) to an EV (XUV400). That is a technique the largest EV maker in the country, Tata Motors, has also adopted. This allows OEMs to offer EVs to customers without having to spend exorbitant amounts of money on R&D to create an electric car from scratch. Let us take a look at the details of this latest concept.
Mahindra XUV400 Facelift (XUV4XO)
We get to witness this enticing digital illustration courtesy of SRK Designs on YouTube. This is a prominent artist who keeps coming up with unique versions of regular cars. On this occasion, he displays his creativity on the XUV400. For the front section, he borrows the fascia of the XUV3XO. Hence, it gets ginormous C-shaped LED DRLs flanking the projector LED headlamps, a broad black panel, the fog lamps and an area which resembles the radiator grille in ICE cars. Apart from that, the rugged skid plate accentuates the tough characteristics of the electric compact SUV.
What elevates the SUV-ish stance and demeanour of the vehicle are the roof rails and an upright stance. The LED turn indicators are mounted on the dual-tone ORVMs. I particularly like the subtle contour on the bonnet. I think it offers a different character to the SUV. Also, the red highlight on the fascia induces a sense of sportiness. The front bumper also bears a rather adventurous look with a sculpted bumper. I can even see the large tyres even though the side profile is not visible. All in all, this Mahindra XUV400 facelift (XUV4XO) certainly looks like something which could make it to production.
Our View
I appreciate the display of imagination and creativity of digital artists. They are able to transform any vehicle into an almost incomprehensible avatar. While a lot of artists go overboard with extreme modifications in the absence of any physical limitations in the virtual realm, I prefer the ones which are slightly closer to reality. This is a perfect example of that. I can almost imagine this exact design on the actual Mahindra XUV4XO. Still, we shall have to wait to see how the Indian auto giant designs it.
