Toyota will launch the facilitated Toyota Corolla Altis in India officially by mid of June 2011, the date is yet to be confirmed. The new Toyota Corolla Altis 2011 has been facelifted both on interiors as well as exteriors. The engine of the Altis 2011 has also been improved to give better performance. The Petrol engine sees more changes with an option of 7 speed CVT-i automatic transmission option while the Diesel variant of the Altis does not see any change on engine or transmission side.
What is New In Toyota Corolla Altis 2011 Facelifted New Model?
The new Toyota Corolla Altis get a new grill on the exterior, slightly modified contour of the front bumper, new sharp headlamps, modified rear bumper design, chrome strip over rear number plate.
On the Interiors, there is a new LCD display console with touchscreen, DVD support, USB Input, aux-input for mobile audio devices, Bluetooth connectivity to pair with phones, keyless entry system to name a few. Other convenience features include remote boot opening button, leather upholstery, arm rest on rear seat, parking sensors etc. The instrument cluster has also been refreshed for a better and sporty look.
On the performance side, the biggest difference will be an optional 7 speed automatic transmission CVT-I from Toyota which will comes only in the petrol variant and not for Diesel as of now. The petrol engine has also been enhanced with a Dual VVTI System in which the exhaust side valves have also been equipped with a VVT system to provide even better performance and efficiency. The addition of VVTI and remapping of engine has resulted in an increased torque of 172 Nm and increased power of 138 BHP.
The ARAI certified mileage of the Petrol Automatic is a strong 15.22 KMPL which is also a good number for a powerful luxury sedan in this segment. Complete details will be out in sometime with the official launch just around the corner.
