Since the City is new we will talk about it first. Nothing strikingly different has been introduced in terms of exterior design yet it looks brilliant. Changes on the exterior include outside rear view mirrors with Turn Indicators, New Design 10 Spoke Alloy wheels, Premium Chrome Front Grille, New Design rear bumpers with Reflectors, increased ground clearance, Sporty new Front Bumper and Rear Combination Tail Lamps.
The Verna Fluidic is very much successful because of its design which features Hyundai’s new design language. The body lines of the car are very futuristic and it looks very sporty. The design is definitely more attractive than the City but the build quality and fit is not as good as City.

Honda City Corporate MT Vs Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.4
Earlier there was no model of City priced close to 7 Lakh and this time Honda has launched a Corporate edition that would play a significant role in grabbing up sales. Since it is in close competition with Verna 1.4, both do not offer much features Interestingly the City Corporate comes with most of the safety features like, ABS, EBD, airbags etc. but does not offer an audio system. On the contrary the Verna base lacks all these safety features but offers an audio system with 4 speakers. So definitely City Corporate is the winner as one should opt for a safer car.
Honda City E Vs Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.6
Both these models have a price difference of Rs.6000 only. The City E is a step above the Corporate model and offers audio system with USB, iPod support with remote control, Aux-input, MP3, AM/FM Radio and speed based volume compensation. Rest remains the same including the safety features. The Verna base 1.6 comes with a the lacking safety features and also gets a couple of interior features like iPod connectivity, power windows with auto shutdown, sections of chrome etc.
Honda City S Vs Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.6 SX
These two models differ by Rs.4000 only. The Verna 1.6 SX offers rear parking sensors, and all the other features that are listed above. City S is again very close to Verna in features and only lacks chrome inserts, cruise control, fog lamps etc. So they are very close to each other and it is quite difficult to judge.
Honda City V Vs Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.6 SX(O)
The Verna SX(O) is the top end manual version and is priced at 8.94 Lakhs. It offers all the abovementioned features. The City V manual variant is priced at 8.70 Lakh and offers all the features except the newly added Sunroof. Sunroof is not present in Verna therefore the City seems to be a better choice.
Honda City V Automatic Vs Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.6 SX(O) Automatic
The City V Auto is priced at 9.42 Lakhs and the Verna 1.6 Auto is priced at 9.64 Lakhs. This means once again the City is a better car as it only lacks Sunroof but offers all the features that come with Verna.
Honda has also added a Sunroof in both automatic and manual V variant and one can opt for any of these at an additional price.
CarBlogIndia Verdict-2011 Honda City Petrol Vs Hyundai Verna Fluidic Engine
Both the cars have their own strong points and weak points. The City gets fantastic driving dynamics and is marginally low in power. The Verna is not the best on the road but has slightly more features.
In terms of pricing also the City beats Verna and i guess all of you will admit that City is definitely better than the Verna as a complete package.
