The speed cameras will help the Delhi Traffic Police in catching the violators and will also ensure safe driving in the city.
With the introduction of the new Motor Vehicles Act, traffic fines have steeply risen. And with that, there are reports of less traffic challan and people have started driving properly and thus ensuring safety to themselves and others. But Delhi govt has more plans to ensure more safety and thus they have gone ahead a step and installed a total of 25 speed cameras.
The speed cameras will not only monitor the particular speed and will send the data to the particular department for the overspeeding but will also help in providing footage if there’s any nearby accident in Delhi.
Here are the list of places where you can ensure not getting tickets and have a safe and challan-less drive. Mind you, the fine for overspeeding is now ₹5000 as opposed to ₹500 before.

A total of 3 cameras have been installed from Aruna Asaf Ali Road to JNU to Masoodpur. And another two cameras are installed at Nelson Mandela Road, at the backside of JNU campus and two on the August Kranti marg. Since JNU sees lots of protests, this will help to see a lot of footage.
Another route where the speed cameras have been installed is the GT Karnal Road which sees four cameras and two cameras are installed from Bhalswa to Wazirabad.
Two cameras have also been installed on the National Highway 24, two en-route from ITO and ISBT, two near Pusa Road and two between Dhaula Kuan to Naraina.
The popular DND flyway which connects Delhi and Noida also saw two cameras installed to detect overspeeding.

While the speed cameras are installed to see if the vehicle is overspeeding or not, there are other cameras installed too which detect red light jumping too. A total of 10 areas have seen the installation of such cameras.
The following places are Moti Bagh, Sarai Kale Khan Ring Road, Captain Gaur Marg Ring Road, Moolchand Ring Road, Lajpat Nagar Ring Road, Bhikaji Cama Place, Andrews Ganj Ring Road and Sriniwaspuri Ring Road. Mayapuri Chowk is yet to receive its camera.
These cameras have been arranged and mounted by automobile major Maruti Udyog Limited as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project.
