A 43-year-old taxi driver lost his life in Delhi’s Mahipalpur area after being dragged for almost 200 meters. The incident was captured on camera. Police reported that the driver, identified as Bijendra, was found critically injured with a severe head injury. He had been driving his Maruti Dzire taxi when a group of robbers attempted to steal his vehicle. This led in a tragic confrontation.

Six Investigation Teams Formed
According to the police, Bijendra was operating his taxi in the Mahipalpur region when a gang of thieves attempted to hijack his vehicle. In a bid to escape, the robbers struck him with the taxi, dragging him for more than 200 meters. This ultimately led to his tragic demise. As per the police, Bijendra was behind the wheel of his Maruti Dzire taxi in the Mahipalpur vicinity when a gang of robbers made an attempt to steal his vehicle. In his resistance, the culprits used the taxi to strike him in their bid to get away, resulting in him being dragged for more than 200 meters, ultimately causing his tragic demise. The video footage captures the horrifying scene as Bijendra is dragged at high speed along the Delhi-Gurugram highway, near Mahipalpur.
The video footage of the entire incident displays the dreadful scene. Bijendra can be seen being dragged along the Delhi-Gurugram highway at a significant speed. The video seems to be taken close to Mahipalpur. The Delhi Police has promptly initiated legal proceedings, filing charges for murder and evidence tampering. Six teams are currently investigating the case and pursuing the culprits.

Not First Such Incident
The latest case is similar to another gruesome incident that took place this year. The hit-and-drag incident took place in Delhi’s Kanjhawala area on January 1. During their journey back home on a scooty, a 20-year-old woman named Anjali Singh and her friend faced a tragic fate. Anjali Singh lost her life when her scooter was struck by a car and dragged for 12 kilometers! Her lifeless body was discovered several kilometers away from the site of crash. In a commendable response, law enforcement caught all 5 suspects involved in the incident.
