Mahindra XUV700 is a prominent SUV in our market that has been selling like hotcakes.
In a disappointing turn of events, a Mahindra XUV700 owner shares his ordeals with the dealership where the staff put diesel instead of petrol at the time of the delivery. Now, people putting diesel instead of petrol at filling stations is a rather common affair. A deep cleaning of the engine is required to get rid of all the diesel so that the performance of the engine does not suffer. But we must admit that we have not heard of an instance where the dealership ends up doing something like this on the day of the delivery. Here are the details.

Mahindra Dealership Puts Diesel Instead of Petrol in XUV700
The details of this Post have been shared on a Mahindra XUV700 Club India page on Facebook. A certain Ashish Shubham, the owner of the XUV700, shares his ordeal with the delivery process. He tells that the staff mistakenly filled the diesel in his petrol SUV. They cleaned it immediately and asked the owner to take the delivery on a written condition. The next day, the owner encountered severe fuel leakage when he was out in his new SUV with his wife. This is, of course, quite concerning which is why he approached the dealership once again.

Despite fighting tooth and nail, all the dealership offered the owner was an extended warranty and three free services. However, the owner had asked for a replacement at the time of the delivery. This is naturally quite a precarious situation which needs to be dealt with with extreme care. He has also shared the images of the leakage in the group. Finally, he adds that the entire delivery process was really very bad.

What We Think
Now, there are tons of cases where such things happen. But to have it at the dealership where professionals are operating is quite misfortunate. On top of that, the fact that the SUV is facing issues after that incident is also concerning. Hence, the frustration of the owner is justified. However, it is also not possible to get the SUV replaced because of this mistake. If there is a manufacturing defect, the owner could claim replacement. More details can on be known after the issue is diagnosed. We would suggest that one should not take the delivery if anything like this happens because the dealership sometimes is not as eager to resolve the issue after that.
