When it comes to modified cars, DC Design Studio is one of the most well-known names. DC-modified vehicles always manage to get attention for good or bad reasons. While the firm has produced some atrocious-looking cars in the past, the new iteration of the design studio (DC2) has produced some impressive units. Now, a video has surfaced on YouTube that shows an extensively modified Mahindra Thar. It comes with massively modified exteriors and completely reworked interiors. Let’s take a closer look at the DC Thar.

DC Modified Mahindra Thar Exterior
The heavily customized Mahindra Thar is owned by one Mr Vipin. It has been modified by the DC2 Design Studio. You can see an all-new front fascia with a stretched front profile and a wider grille with gloss black surrounds. The rounded headlamps have been replaced by a sleeker set of headlamps (with LED projector bulbs). Additionally, the headlamps are placed within carved housings. There is also a thin strip of LED turn indicators. The headlamp and tail lamp surrounds also get a carbon fibre finish.
On the side, the DC2-modified Thar comes with redesigned front and rear fenders. There is also heavy-looking side body cladding. The rear panel also sports a custom set of tail lamps with unique LED inserts, additional lights, and carbon fibre inserts in the lower edges of the rear bumper. The front bumper looks completely different. The bonnet comes with a more prominent hump in the middle. Additional features include customized side fenders and 26-inch custom wheels with thick off-road spec tyres. Overall, the DC Thar sports a wider and sturdier appearance.

Fully Modified Interior
The interiors of the DC Thar have been completely reworked. It gets a new set of sports seats (front and rear) with dual-tone red and black upholstery. The highlight of the car is custom roof lighting with capacitive touch buttons on either side of the roof. There is also a starry night light for the roof and blue light surrounds for the AC vents. Additional features include a panoramic sunroof, a soft-touch red leather finish on the dashboard, and a carbon fibre finish on the steering wheel. There are also carbon fibre inserts on the door pads and centre console.

Specs
The Mahindra Thar is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that outputs 150PS of peak power and 320Nm of max torque. It is paired with a six-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. A 2.2-litre diesel engine offers 130PS of power and 300Nm of torque. The five-door car comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill descent control, a front seat belt reminder, and rear parking sensors. The Mahindra Thar is priced at Rs 13.59 lakh – Rs 16.29 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). It comes in two broad trims: AX(O) and LX.
