DC was not able to sell many Avanti sportscars and only 127 units were sold. It had a 2.0-litre petrol engine that developed 250 hp and 340 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine came mated to a 6-speed manual transmission powering the rear wheels. The price tag on it was a whopping Rs 40 lakh. The design was inspired by Ferrari at the front and Lamborghini at the rear. The exterior was quite striking but there was nothing to ride home about if we consider a performance comparison with the actual sportscars. In any case, this is the biggest automobile scam in the country and Dilip is still facing these cases.
