The Datsun Redi-Go is positioned in the A-segment of Indian car market. Priced ultra competitively at INR 2.39 lakhs, the Redi Go rivals cars like the Alto and the Kwid. Tata Nano still the cheapest car on sale in IndiaThe Redi-GO’s ultra-competitive pricing has raised quite a few eyebrows. While it is expected to go up in a few months, it will still come across as attractive. However, it is still more expensive than the Nano by about 30,000 rupees ensuring the Tata Nano retains the crown of the “Cheapest Car in India”. Tata also offers the Nano with an optional 5-speed AMT in the XM and XT trims making it the cheapest automatic hatchback you can buy right now. For the 30,000 more than what you have to pay for the Nano you get a bigger engine, more power, and, obviously, better performance, added features and a more car-like feel overall.

Datsun Redi Go vs Tata Nano GenX Features Comparison
Keeping mind that both these cars are entry level hatchbacks, the list of features isn’t really that long. The base variant of the Redi-GO even misses out on air conditioning, power steering, door pockets, etc. Top end variants of both cars come with air conditioning, central locking, body coloured bumpers, front power windows and an audio unit. Additionally, the Nano’s audio unit also gets USB, AUX and Bluetooth support. Unlike its cousin, the Kwid, redi-GO does not come with a touchscreen audio unit with navigation support.
Exterior and Interior Design
The exteriors of the Redi-GO and the Nano are devoid of any boxiness. Both cars boast of a tall-boy design with high ground clearance figures of 185 mm and 180 mm for the Redi-GO and Nano respectively. The Datsun, owing to the fact that it is brand new, is bound to turn more heads on the road at least until they become a common sight. That aside, the redi-GO boasts of sharper lines as opposed to the curvier lines seen on the Nano. However, like we always say, design is a matter of personal taste and it all boils down to the buyer and his/her preference.
Interiors of both these cars come finished in a light colour scheme with black highlights for the centre console. The Nano’s steering, shared with other Tata cars, increases the premium-ness levels slightly. The Nano’s dashboard is characterised by a centrally mounted speedo while the redi-GO gets a more conventional setup. Rear passengers have to make do with a fixed rear AC vent in the Datsun redi-GO.
Colours
The new Datsun Redi Go goes on sale in five colours – White, Lime Green, Ruby Red, Gray, Silver.
The Tata Nano is available in seven colours – Dazzle Blue, Damson Purple, Persian Rose, Meteor Silver, Pearl White, Sangria Red, Royal Gold
