Fresh reports suggest that Datsun is going to launch the facelift of Redi-GO soon. The A-segment hatchback will now be better in terms of fit and finish.
Datsun Redi-GO is a popular entry-level hatchback in India, since it is more affordable than its competitors. It goes against the likes of Renault Kwid, Alto 800 and the base-variants of the Hyundai Santro as well.
However, when it comes to Datsun, a lot of buyers worry about the fit and finish of their cars. The Redi-GO has only received 1-star in the safety crash tests. Now, Team-BHP reports that all of it is going to change as Datsun is launching the Redi-GO facelift.
In this facelift, Datsun will upgrade the Redi-GO with tweaked front and rear bumpers. Actually, the exterior will be completely revised and so will the interior be. Inside the cabin, you can expect a completely new dashboard design and upgraded upholstery.

The fit and finish quality of the Redi-GO will be improved. Datsun plans to make it more sturdy and has hinted that it wants 3-star rating for the hatchback. So, we can expect a stronger platform and components onboard.
The new features list might include the addition of a touchscreen-infotainment, which is the new fad in even small cars. The touchscreen unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay from the Datsun GO might be seen on the Redi-GO. Other than that, the passenger-side airbag will also be added in the features list.
The Datsun Redi-GO facelift will be equipped with BS-6 compliant engines right from the launch. In its current state, the hatchback uses an 800cc as well as a 1.0 litre petrol engine. The 800cc engine produces 54 BHP and 72 Nm of peak torque. The bigger engine delivers 68 BHP and 91 Nm of peak torque.

The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the top-spec variants are available with a 5-speed AMT as well. The same setup is going to continue with the facelift as well. So, it looks like a major update for the Redi-GO and its first one as well.
With all these updates, the prices of Redi-GO will increase surely. As of now, it starts off at Rs 2.80 Lakhs going up to Rs 4.37 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The prices are likely to increase by Rs 10,000-20,000, tops.
