A modified Mahindra Thar that was used in a wedding precision in Ghaziabad has been seized for flouting various rules and creating nuisance
The old generation Mahindra Thar seen in the video can be seen prancing on the public road, but now the police are taking action against the trouble makers. Mahindra Thar has been in news for the past few months for sights of the upcoming 5-door variant. It is, however, worth noting the fact that due to some shocking incidents, the SUV often makes it to the headlines for the wrong reasons. Adding to the list is a new video of a dancing Mahindra Thar that went viral on Twitter.

Dancing Mahindra Thar Used in a Wedding Procession
The said video shows people performing stunts with an old Mahindra Thar. The SUV from the Indian manufacturer is often misused – as can be seen in the most recent case of what looks like a wedding procession. As you can see in the video we have here, the old generation Mahindra Thar has been heavily modified with hydraulics that help it bounce easily. It also gets loud speakers and some cosmetic changes at the front. The video is reportedly from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad city where the SUV was being used in a wedding procession. Reportedly, the driver was trying to lift the front-end of the SUV while driving on a public road.

The suspension of this Thar has been tuned in such a way that the front end of the car bounces when the driver applies the accelerator and brakes. The footage available online also shows the SUV playing extremely loud music. In the video, the car owner is not only flouting the rules regarding the modification, but is also driving recklessly and putting the lives of pedestrians and people on the road at risk. For those who are unaware, it is illegal to modify a vehicle as per the Motor Vehicles Act and doing so can lead to heavy fines and even jail.

SUV Seized and Driver Arrested
According to another social media post, the Ghaziabad Police has now impounded the dancing Mahindra Thar for reckless driving and playing loud music. The driver, who is said to be the groom’s brother, has also been arrested. This is not the first time that such reports have come from Ghaziabad. In 2020, the Ghaziabad police seized a heavily modified Mahindra Scorpio, also known as the Dancing Car. At that time the police had issued a fine of Rs 41,500 to the car owner for rash and negligent driving. In the case of this Mahindra Thar, it is not clear whether the police have issued a challan for his behaviour on a public road or not.
