Group PSA is officially going to launch the Citroen brand in India on the 3rd of April this year. The automaker will also reveal its first car for India.
Citroen, the chosen brand by Group PSA for the Indian market, is going to make its official debut in India on the 3rd of April this year. On the same day, the French carmaker is also going to reveal its first product of the Indian market. Media speculations put this first vehicle to be the C5 Aircross. A compact SUV which was seen testing on Indian roads a couple of weeks back.
Group PSA is going to manufacture the Citroen cars in India itself. This will be done at CK Birla’s factory located in Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. Local manufacturing will help the brand keep the prices of its product competitive. Something which is very important in a market like India.

Media reports state that the Citroen C5 Aircross will be sold in the Indian market with close to 70% localization. It is going to launch in India in a five-seater configuration. The French automaker’s products are known for their quirky design
When launched in India, the C5 Aircross is going to come with features such as a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This car will be positioned in the premium segment. And hence, compete against the likes of Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and the upcoming MG Hector.
It is quite early to comment on the engine specifications of this vehicle. We expect the Citroen C5 Aircross to launch in India sometime during the year 2021. Hence, it becomes quite obvious that then it is likely to get BS-Vi complaint engine. It is likely to come with petrol as well as diesel engine options.
