Citroen is planning to launch a new Verna and City rival. The new crossover sedan is expected to be launched next year. It is expected to be called Citroen C3X (codenamed CC22). The upcoming car will be the company’s fourth model in the Indian market. The French automaker plans to launch an all-new C3 Aicross in the second half of 2023. The midsize SUV will likely be launched around Diwali season. The company is also working on an electric iteration in early 2025. Several details of the upcoming Citroen C3X sedan have surfaced online. Here’s all we know so far:

Citroen C3X India Launch
The Citroen C3X sedan in India is expected to feature fastback styling. It will come with a high ground clearance (similar to an SUV). The upcoming car will borrow design elements from the Citroen C4X and C5X. The Citroen C5X is already available in the European markets. The flagship model combines design elements from sedans, estates, and SUVs. Additionally, the C3X will get its front fascia from the C3 Aircross. It is likely to feature a heavily tapered roofline, a notchback-like tailgate, alloy wheels, pronounced wheel arches, and plastic cladding all around.

The upcoming sedan will share its platform (CMP) with the C3 hatchback. It will be powered by a 1.2L turbo petrol engine (sourced from the Citroen C3) that offers 110bhp of power. In terms of dimensions, the Citroen C3X will have an overall length of around 4.3-4.4 meters in length. It is expected to come with a similar wheelbase as the C3 Aircross SUV. Additional features on the sedan will include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay support, a fully digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, HVAC controls, and more. The Citreon C3X sedan will go against the likes of Honda City, Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, and Volkswagen Virtus.

Positioned Close to Citroen C3 Aircrews
On the other hand, the Citroen C3 Aircross will be powered by the same 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine as the regular C3. It offers 110 hp of max power and 190 Nm of peak torque. The mid-size SUV will have a higher road presence and get a large wheelbase. On the front, it will feature a split headlamp setup with LED DRLs on the bonnet. The main headlight cluster will be placed on the bumper. Additional elements will include a roof-mounted spoiler, double Chevron Citroen grille, and large taillamps with reflector lights. It is said to have an overall length of 4.2m. The upcoming model will feature a proper SUV look.
