Official- Chevrolet Sail Launch In India By Mid 2012, Sedan By 2012 End– To Challenge Dzire And Etios
Chevrolet India (General Motors) has started testing the replacement car for Chevrolet Aveo UVA hatchback in India. UVA has been quite old and dated in India and an upgrade is long on the cars. The Chevrolet Sail hatchback and sedan version are soon to be launched in India. The Sail Hatchback which is spied in India is already launched in China along with the sedan variant of the same. These small cars are spacious and low priced and designed specially for countries like India, Brazil and China. The test mules look quite close to the production models and the launch may happen in early 2012. We expect to see the prototype or unveiling of the same at the Auto Expo 2012 in new Delhi.

The new model of Aveo UVA 2012 or Sail hatchback is a simple design with improved styling than the UVA, but it is looks spacious and roomy on the inside. From the side view of the car, there seems to be little boot space, but lot of cabin space for good legroom both at the front and rear seats. The roof is high and there is ample head room and high driving seat for good visibility.

The headlamps are slightly wrapped around and the front grille looks signature Chevrolet style with large logo and chrome strip running horizontally in the middle of the front grille. The car rides on wide and fat 14 inch or 15 inch alloy wheels for a good road grip. The rear hatch door is more of vertical similar to what we see on Maruti Ritz and the tail lamp cluster starts high above the bumper and reaches up to the roof spoiler on the rear. There is large glass window area on the sides giving a large spacious feel to the already large cabin. The design of the rear and the bumper is quite simplistic and contemporary with nothing too sporty or catchy to the eyes.
