Chevrolet (General Motors) India has announced an increase in the prices of Chevrolet Cars in India by up to Rs. 15,000 in India. The cars which are selling well in India has seen a hike in prices which includes small cars – Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Beat, MPV Chevrolet Tavera and luxury sedan Chevrolet Cruze. Other cars in the portfolio of Chevrolet India have not been touched. The Chevrolet Aveo, Aveo Uva hatchback (soon to be replaced by Chevrolet Sail hatchback) have not seen any price increase. The Chevrolet Captiva SUV has also not seen any price rise as the new Chevrolet Captiva is going to launch soon as it has already been unveiled at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi India.

In small cars, the Chevrolet Beat Diesel, the car which is in highest demand from Chevrolet’s stable has seen a sharp price increase of Rs. 12,000 while the petrol variant of Beat gets dearer by Rs. 6000. The Tavera gets dearer by Rs. 10,000 while the popular Diesel Sedan, Chevrolet Cruze also gets dearer by Rs. 15,000.
The small car Spark has also seen a price increase of approx. Rs. 5000 which is quite a bit for a small car priced under Rs. 4 Lakhs.
