In a world where so much is said about the toxic work culture, a gesture like this comes as a breath of fresh air
In a widely applauded gesture, a Chennai company gifts 28 cars and 29 bikes to its employees as a token of appreciation for their contribution. We live in an era where we come across disappointing cases of toxic work culture in many parts of the country. Social media is full of the details of such cases. Unfortunately, India is a country where overworking is considered respectful and appreciative. However, we have seen cases where it has caused illnesses in the long term or even worse. Hence, the debate on this topic is strong in today’s times. For now, let us check out the details of this latest instance.
Chennai Company Gifts 28 Cars and 29 Bikes
The internet is full of this latest occurrence by a firm called Team Detailing Solutions. It is a Chennai-based structural steel design and detailing company. As a Diwali gift, it decided to go all out and offer 28 cars and 29 bikes to its hard-working employees. The cars are from Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and even Mercedes-Benz. That is quite impressive and inspiring. In fact, I feel more firms should set such motivational examples to appreciate the hard work of their employees. This is especially imperative in a time when toxic work culture is promoted.
The Managing Director of this company, Sridhar Kannan said, “We wanted to show our appreciation for their (employees) tireless efforts in driving the company’s success. We believe our employees are our greatest assets. Ourย employeesย have demonstrated exceptional commitment and dedication, and we are proud to recognize their achievements. We select the candidates who are highly motivated and a concept of buying a car or a bike is like a dream for them. We have been gifting bikes to the employees and in 2022 we gifted car to two of our senior colleagues. We have gifted 28 cars today. Some of them are Maruti Suzukis, Hyundais, and Mercedes Benz as well.”
Positive Work Culture
This firm is not doing such an act for the first time. In fact, it has progressive policies in place to make the work environment as conducive to the personal and professional development of a worker as possible. As a part of that approach, it even offers ‘Marriage Assistance’ to the workers. If someone in the company is getting married, the company provides a helping hand of Rs 50,000 which has been increased to Rs 1 lakh from this year. Hence, I really commend this positive culture this company inculcates in not just its employees but in others as well. Hopefully, other firms can take inspiration from this and work in this direction to create a better society.
