Modified Kia Sonet SUVs have already started coming in and here is India’s first with bigger 18-inch wheels.
Deliveries of Kia Sonet began a couple of weeks ago, after it was launched back on September 18. People have already started modifying it and we have seen a few examples of it. Most of the modified Sonet only get cosmetic upgrades and nothing towards the performance. Here is another example which gets just one but unique modification.
This Kia Sonet gets 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels with yellow brake callipers. Originally, if you buy the top-end variant, you get 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and if you are buying the mid-spec or base variant, you will get 15-inch steel wheels. And here, there’s still some room left inside the fender.

Other than that, there are no cosmetic changes done onboard. By the looks, this modified Kia Sonet looks like the base-spec trim as it does not get rear wiper and washer. Prices of Sonet start off at Rs 6.71 Lakhs going up to Rs 13.99 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). These are still introductory prices and will soon increase.
Kia Sonet gets tons of features including ventilated seats, 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system, UVO connect internet car technology, electric sunroof, cruise control, traction control modes, drive modes and a lot more. On the safety front, it is offered with six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, rear parking camera and Vehicle Stability Assist.
Sonet comes with three engine options including a 1.2 Litre NA petrol, a 1.5 Litre turbo-diesel and a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol. The petrol engine produces 83 PS and 113 Nm, paired with a 5-speed MT. The diesel engine comes in two states of tuning – 100 PS/240 Nm for the 6-speed MT and 115 PS/250 Nm for the 6-speed AT. The turbo petrol engine is good for 120 PS and 175 Nm paired with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT.
