The Toyota Urban Cruise is available in three variants – Mid, High and Premium – and even the entry-level variant comes decently well equipped with features corresponding to the second-in-line variant of the Vitara Brezza.
After the Kia Sonet, the latest entrant in the sub-compact SUV segment has been the Toyota Urban Cruiser. Although the Urban Cruiser is not making quite as headlines as the Sonet, it has everything that’s good about the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and then it brings some additional value from Toyota. Toyota launched the Urban Cruiser with its price starting from Rs 8.40 lakh and going up to Rs 11.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The sub-compact SUV is available in three trim levels – Mid, High and Premium.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is actually available in four variants – LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi+. The three variants of the Urban Cruiser thus correspond to the higher VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ variants of the Vitara Brezza. This means that even the base-spec Mid variant of the Urban Cruiser will come decently equipped with features that are not on offer on the base-spec Brezza. Toyota is offering six single-tone color option on the Urban Cruiser – Sunny White, Iconic Grey, Suave Silver, Rustic Brown, Spunky Blue and Groovy Orange. There are also three dual-tone color options – Rustic Brown/Black, Spunky Blue?Black and Groovy Orange/White. Although the changes in design from the Brezza are only to the ‘soft’ plastic parts, it brings about a noticeable difference in the look of the car. Overall, the Urban Cruiser looks a little more SUV-ish than the Brezza, clearly because of its Fortuner-influence. The Urban Cruiser also gets a dual-tone dark brown finish to the upholstery compared to the Brezza’s grey and black layout.
