Even through there will be many cars and bikes at Auto Expo 2023, there are lesser participants than before. Here are all the details
India’s biggest automotive event, the Auto Expo is all set to return this week after a gap of three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the event will be held from 13 to 18 January at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. While the participating automakers will showcase their vehicles during the said dates, the components expo will begin on January 12 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. While there will be many cars at Auto Expo 2023, many of the prominent auto brands will be conspicuous by their absence.

Carmakers Participating in Auto Expo 2023
The country’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) will unveil at least two really important cars at Auto Expo 203. Anator major brand that will participate in this year’s Expo is Hyundai Motor India. Other major brand to mark its presence at the Auto Expo 2023 would be Kia India as well as Tata Motors. In fact, the Indian carmaker plans to showcase a number of important cars at the event including the Tata Harrier/Safari facelift models. Furthermore, China’s newest automaker – BYD (Build Your Dreams) and MG Motor India will also be seen at the event. Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Lexus India and Volvo India are also some of the others that will be participating in the Auto Expo. On the other hand, EV startups like Okinawa and Tork Motors as well as big EV brands like Hero Electric will also showcase their portfolio.

Non Participants
Meanwhile, a number of big car brands like Mahindra will not be seen at the 2023 Auto Expo. But first, let us talk about the list of manufacturers who will be participating in it. Moving on, the brands which will not be participating in the 2023 Auto Expo include carmakers like Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Porsche and Lamborghini, BMW, Citroen, Force Motors, Honda Cars India, Isuzu, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Renault, and Nissan.

For those wondering, a number of brands are not interested in attending the event because of the high expenditure involved in the process. The top executives also suggest that the total return on the investment is not as high in such events and have claimed these events to be ‘not worth’ from a promotional point of view. One of the executives also added that hosting its own event is not only more economical for a brand but also gives a better return on the investment. Most of the two-wheeler brands on the other hand claim that the highlight of such events happens to be cars and the new scooters and bikes fail to as much attention. From all this, once thing that’s for sure is that there would be lesser-than-usual turnout of new bikes and cars at Auto Expo 2023.
