The car sales report for the month of June 2021 is out and the signs for the automobile industry are encouraging. While the country was in lockdown for much of May, the recovery in terms of sales figures is quite strong in June. As usual, we bring the detailed volumes of cars sold by each carmaker in India in June 2021 to see who came out on top. So, without any further ado, let us have a look at the car sales report for June 2021.

Car Sales Report for June 2021
Maruti Suzuki – 1,24,280 Units
The largest carmaker in the country keeps dominating the market share with 1,24,280 units being sold in June 2021. Maruti sold 51,274 Units in the same month last year.
Hyundai Motors – 40,496 Units
The second-largest carmaker in the country continues with decent sales figures in June 2021 where it sold 40,496 units. This is a massive growth trajectory compared to June 2020 where it sold 21,320 units. Hyundai has recently launched the 7-seat version of Creta, the Alcazar.

Tata Motors – 24,110 Units
The homegrown carmaker has been selling all its products like hotcakes. Every car in the fleet of Tata has contributed to 24,110 units sales in June 2021, compared to 11,419 units in the same month last year. Tata is planning to launch micro-SUV, HBX in India next.
Mahindra – 16,913 Units
The other homegrown SUV carmaker has been achieving consistently impressive sales in our market. In June 2021, Mahindra sold 16,913 units of SUVs compared to 7,969 units a year ago. Mahindra has planned a ton of SUVs in the next couple of years in India.
Kia – 15,015 Units
The popular SUVs, Sonet and Seltos, have propelled Kia to an impressive sales figure of 15,015 units in June 2021. In comparison, Kia sold 7,275 Units in the same month last year.
Toyota – 8,798 Units
The Japanese carmaker sold 8,798 units of its products in June 2021 in India compared to 3,866 units in June 2020. The Fortuner and Innova Crysta contribute the most to the sales figures of Toyota.

Renault – 6,100 Units
Renault sold 6,100 units of its cars in June 2021 compared to 4,634 units in the same month last year. Almost all the sales for Renault come from Kwid, Triber and Kiger.
Ford – 4,936 Units
Ford has sold just under 5,000 units of its products in India in June 2021. This is substantially higher than what it sold in June 2020 (2,639 units). The facelifted EcoSport has been recently spotted testing and might launch soon.
Honda – 4,767 Units
The Japanese carmaker has been churning out some decent sales considering the fact that it is only the Amaze and City that contribute majorly to the sales. In June 2021, Honda managed to sell 4,767 units compared to 1,398 units in June 2020.

MG – 3,558 Units
MG Motors has been enjoying huge success on the back of its Hector family which comes in 5,6 and 7 seat arrangements in India. Last month, MG sold 3,558 units of its SUVs compared to 2,012 units in the same month last year. MG is gearing up for the launch of its Creta-rivalling mid-size SUV, Astor soon.
Nissan – 3,503 Units
Nissan has revived itself in our competitive market with the help of Magnite, which was launched last year. The aggressive pricing and modern looks worked well for the brand and the results are evident. Nissan sold 3,503 units in June 2021, compared to a disappointing 576 units in June 2020.
VW – 1,633 Units
The German carmaker has seen 1,633 sales in the month of June, thanks largely to the variant updates that it keeps doing regularly for Polo and Vento. This is a marginal bump on a year-on-year basis.
FCA (Jeep) – 789 Units
Jeep sold 789 units of its mid-size SUV, the Compass in June 2021. This marks a substantial improvement in sales compared to June 2020, where it sold only 256 units. This is due to the updated Compass. Jeep might also introduce a compact SUV in our market next.

Skoda – 734 Units
The new journey that Skoda has taken with the Kushaq will surely improve its sales figures from this month itself. However, in the month of June, Skoda managed to sell mere 734 units. Unfortunately, it is about the same number of sales that it managed to achieve in the same month last year.
Citroen – 41 Units
The car sales report for the French carmaker represents 41 units of its premium SUV, the C5 Aircross in June 2021. Citroen had sold 40 units in the month prior to that. Now, Citroen will be turning its focus on mass-market products starting with the upcoming compact SUV, codenamed CC21(or C3).

This is the overall car sales report for June 2021 for the individual carmakers. It must be noted that the year-on-year comparison is a general scale to measure the growth of a company. However, the sales were quite low in June 2020 because of the pandemic and therefore, the sales in June 2021 are significantly higher with all brands.
