A new lion video has gone viral on the internet. However, this involves a car driver harassing a lion in Amreli, Gujrat.
Human beings are known as social animals who is supposed to behave like civilized people. However, every day something or other makes us question this. Now, a new video has emerged from Amreli, Gujrat. As you can see below, a car driver is following a lion in a village area. The driver is clearly harassing the lion and blinding it with bright headlights. The lion can be seen running away confused and looking for an escape. This harassment has angered wildlife lovers all around the world.

Gujrat is the home of Asiatic lions, mainly residing in the Gir forest. According to the latest census, 674 lions reside in the Saurashtra region (240 in revenue areas of Bhavnagar and Amreli). However, this video is said to be from the Fachariya village of Amreli’s Jafrabad taluka. The revenue (non-protected) area is part of the Amreli district which alone houses nearly 100 lions. Sometimes, they can be seen in villages and on the roads. However, this incident is quite shameful and shows the worst side of human beings.

The forest department ha already launched an investigation in this case. “We have launched a probe and an FIR will be lodged under the Wildlife Protection Act after collecting primary evidence,” said Jayen Patel, deputy conservator of forest, Shetrunji division. Previously, the forest department had to stop illegal lion shows in the region. However, lion conservation activists claim that the activity has restarted in some parts of Amreli and Bhavnagar district.
