BYD eMAX 7 – Specs
The BYD eMAX 7 carries on with the same 71.8 kWh BYD Blade battery pack which was also available with the outgoing e6. This battery powers electric motors to generate a healthy 201 hp and 310 Nm of peak power and torque. The claimed driving range is 530 km (NEDC) on a single charge. It supports 115 kW of DC fast charging. With this, the 0-100 km/h sprint is achieved in just 8.6 seconds. That is necessary to haul loads of passengers as it is a 3-row EV. However, to make the EV more accessible to a wide range of customers, there is also the option of a smaller 55.4 kWh battery pack which supports 89 kW of DC fast charging. It generates 161 hp and 310 Nm of peak power and torque and has a range of 420 km (NEDC). In this configuration, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h comes up in 10.1 seconds. Therefore, the buyers will be able to choose according to their requirements.

BYD eMAX 7 – Exterior Design
On the outside, the eMAX 7 bears a few design changes in comparison to the e6. At the front, there is a sleek LED headlamp cluster with integrated LED DRLs, and a thick chrome slab connecting them with the BYD engraved on it. Apart from that, the front fascia even consists of a sporty fog lamp housing and a bifurcated lower section with a chunky bumper section on the top and a sharp splitter-type element underneath. On the sides, you get to experience the sheer length of this electric MPV. The B, C and D pillars are black with a chrome surround elevating the overall road presence. In fact, it lends that floating roof effect to the EV.
Furthermore, the door panels carry a sharp crease which runs from the front fender to the taillamp. There is also a rugged side skirting to tease some sportiness. The wheel arches swallow the new alloy wheels quite well. The tail section has a roof-mounted spoiler with a shark fin antenna. At the rear, it gets a connected LED taillamp cluster, a theme we have seen on so many new-age vehicles. In fact, I like the lower bumper section which has a metallic strip. It accentuates the adventurous traits of the electric MPV. All in all, it will have an imposing road presence. Here are its dimensions:
Dimensions (in mm) | BYD eMAX 7 |
Length | 4,710 |
Width | 1,810 |
Height | 1,690 |
Wheelbase | 2,800 |
Boot Capacity | 580L (with 3rd row folded) |
Let us see how well the customers embrace the new electric MPV!
