Earlier this month, we reported about a Jawa dealer in Mumbai who absconded with booking amount worth lakhs after conning several buyers
Customers who had endured the ordeal of K K Motors’ sudden closure and loss of booking amount for JAWA Yezdi bikes now wear smiles as they finally receive their motorcycles. In September, mid-day reported on the authorized dealer’s unscrupulous actions, prompting JAWA Yezdi Motorcycles to step in, deliver bikes to six affected customers on September 11-12, and provide compensation in the form of accessories. Despite an FIR, the Bandra police have yet to take action against K K Motors.
Speaking on the quick redressal of the issue, Mr. Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, said, “At Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, customers remain our top priority. We have demonstrated our unwavering dedication to our customers and as we enter the festive season, we invite customers to visit our extended dealership network of 250 touchpoints across the country, where they can make their Jawa and Yezdi dreams come alive.“

Investigation Against Absconding Jawa Dealer
JAWA Yezdi Motorcycles conducted an investigation and dispatched a team from Delhi to Mumbai. They delivered bikes to the affected customers through the JAWA Yezdi Motorcycles showroom in Panvel and extended their apologies. Those customers who are still awaiting their bikes can expect to receive them this week. Additionally, Ashish Singh Joshi, the CEO of JAWA Yezdi Motorcycles, personally intervened by rushing to Mumbai and conducting an internal inquiry. Thanks to these efforts, the matter was resolved within a week.
The Bandra police initiated legal action by registering an FIR against the proprietress of K K Motors, including Gaurav (alias Rohan Nagda), Dipesh Nagda, and Deepa Nagda. This action came after the dealership abruptly closed its doors in mid-July, absconding with funds paid by customers for booking motorcycles. Subsequently, numerous victims, numbering around 11-12, have stepped forward following the official registration of the FIR on September 2. The company is actively working to deliver the motorcycles to these affected customers. It’s worth noting that these fraudulent incidents occurred between March and mid-July, affecting various complainants, including Vighnesh Ramakant Gorule, Ramchandra Sangodkar, Jason Barrette (John Montu Fernandez), Yash Bhawani, Vijay Waghmare, Swapnil Jadhav, Varsha Kharade, and Soheb Hasan Shaikh, with losses ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 2.88 lakh.

Customers Satisfied with Resolution
Siddharth Menon, a victim of the fraud, shared his satisfaction upon finally receiving his motorcycle, a booking he made three months ago. In July, he had taken to Twitter to highlight the fraud but did not receive any assistance from the company’s regional head at that time. However, following the widespread coverage by various publications, the company reached out to him and coordinated the delivery of his motorcycle at the Panvel showroom on September 11. Additionally, the company furnished him with accessories and gifts, and Siddharth expressed his appreciation towards mid-day and the company for their support.
Vignesh Gorule, another victims who lodged the FIR against K K Motors, expressed his gratitude, stating, “With the help of mid-day, I obtained my motorcycle at the Panvel showroom just before my birthday on September 22. The company also presented me with a birthday gift, comprising jackets, helmets, bike covers, and various accessories.” He expressed his hope that the Bandra-based dealers involved in the scam would be apprehended soon.
