Renault has silently launched the BS6 Kwid with price now starting at Rs 2.92 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The updated hatch has started reaching dealerships.
Renault Kwid has just received its BS6 compliant engines, ahead of the deadline from April. Both the 0.8 Litre and the 1.0 Litre engines have been retained. While we wait on an official launch notification, the BS6 Kwid has already started reaching dealerships.
The price of BS6 Renault Kwid starts off at Rs 2.92 Lakhs up to Rs 5.01 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Renault has increased the price of BS6 Kwid by Rs 9,000 on all variants. Here is the new list:

BS6 Renault Kwid just gets updated engines and nothing else. Recently, Renault launched the facelift to the Kwid. The hatch gets reshaped front and rear bumpers, new headlamp styling, new tail lamp units and new alloy wheels as well.
Inside the cabin, there are minor changes made to the dashboard and gets a new fully digital speedometer. Features on the top-spec trim include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Rear Parking Camera and all-four Power Windows.
The 800cc three-cylinder petrol engine of Kwid produces 54 BHP and 72 Nm of peak torque. The bigger 1.0 Litre three-cylinder petrol motor produces 68 BHP and 91 Nm of peak torque. You get the option of a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT, but the 800cc variants only get the manual gearbox.

Renault is planning to bring the electric version of Kwid as well. It has already entered the Chinese market and the next stop is India. Renault might showcase it at the 2020 Auto Expo in a concept version, with its launch likely to happen by 2022.
