Other than BS6 complaince, there has been no other change on the Hector. The SUV continues to be powered by a Fiat sourced 2.0L diesel engine that puts out 170bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated only to a 6-speed manual transmission. In fact, this is the same engine that’s offered on the new Tata Harrier and in the exact same spec as well.
The Harrier previously got this engine with 140bhp, but with its BS6 update, the Harrier saw a bump in power, and now matches the Hector on that front. However, Tata also offers an automatic gearbox option with the Harrier and that is where it edges ahead of the Hector.
