Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is now BS6 compliant with its 1.5 Litre petrol engine. Maruti has also added a new range-topping and sportier S variant.
The 11th car in Maruti’s lineup to receive the BS6 compliant engine is the Ciaz. BS6 Maruti Ciaz has been launched now with its price starting from Rs 8.31 Lakhs. As told, it only comes with the BS6 petrol engine and will soon lose its diesel engine.
The price of BS6 Maruti Ciaz has increased by Rs 12,000 – 22,000, depending on the variant. Also, there’s a new range-topping “S” variant added, which gets some sportier design elements. Here’s the revised price list of BS6 Maruti Ciaz:

The top-end Alpha variant goes up to Rs 9.97 Lakhs with MT and 11.09 Lakhs with AT. The new S variant only comes with a manual gearbox. Under the hood, the BS6 Ciaz continues with its 1.5 Litre K15B petrol engine with SHVS. The engine produces 105 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed.
The new Ciaz S variant gets dual-tone rear bumpers, side skirts, glossy-black rear spoiler, bigger 16-inch blacked-out alloy wheels and ORVMs. Inside the cabin, instead of the dual-tone beige-black option, the Ciaz S gets all-black interiors. Other than these cosmetic upgrades, there are no changes in the features list.
The S variant gets features like LED projector headlamps, cruise control, Rear AC vents, Front and Rear Armrest, 17.8cm touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Voice Recognition and Auto Headlamps. Safety features include ESP with Hill Hold System (AT Only), Dual Front Airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with a rear camera and Auto Day/Night IRVMs.

Maruti has not completely ruled out the possibility of diesel engines. It is developing the newly added 1.5 Litre DDiS 225 diesel engine for BS6 compliance. The engine will only come on Ciaz, S-Cross, XL6 and Vitara Brezza by the end of this year.
