The BS6 Honda Jazz was spied in its final stages of testing and Honda is expected to introduce some minor cosmetic updates to the exterior and interior.
Honda has mostly updated its entire lineup to comply with the updated BS6 norms, but we didn’t hear anything about the BS6 Jazz until the manufacturer recently listed the new Jazz on their website. No, this is not the new-gen Jazz that Honda is selling internationally but its just an updated version of the current-gen Jazz in India. Before the coronavirus-related nationwide lockdown was imposed in late March, the BS6 Honda jazz was spotted in its final phase of testing.
And that leads us to believe that once the lockdown has been lifted, Honda could be launching the BS6 Jazz very soon. And its not just a BS6 update, but Honda will introduce some much needed minor cosmetic tweaks to the hatchback as well. Not much is known about the styling changes and nothing is much evident from the spy shots either. But it will mostly just be a minor nip and tuck here and there.
As for the engines under the hood, there will be a 1.2L, naturally aspirated petrol engine and it should continue to produces 90bhp and 110Nm of torque. The 1.5L diesel engine will also be updated to BS6 norms and even that should continue to produce 100bhp and 200Nm of torque. A five-speed manual gearbox will be offered with both the engines and the petrol engine will also be offered with a CVT gearbox. However, the diesel engine will not likely be offered with a CVT gearbox anymore.

The gearbox options on the Jazz will in fact be similar to what’s being offered on the recently updated BS6 Amaze. Its interesting to note that Honda is updating the 1.5L diesel engine for the Jazz but the current-gen Honda City has not been introduced with the same engine. The 1.5L diesel engine will however be back on the City when the new generation model is launched sometime after the lockdown is lifted.

We also expect some cosmetic updates on the interiors as well and the top-spec Jazz will continue to offer a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with other features. We will have more details on the styling updates of the Jazz closer to its launch. Honda is also working on an update of the WR-V along with its BS6 update and it should be launched soon as well.
