Old vs New Maruti Suzuki Swift
This video comes from Auto Social UK on YouTube. The host has the two models right next to each other. This gives a clear visual to the viewers regarding the exact changes. At the front, the bumper, bonnet, logo placement and grille are redesigned in comparison to the older model. Even the headlamp cluster features a tweaked pattern which, together with the aforementioned elements, contributes toward making it quite sporty. On the sides, there is a characteristic crease and new 16-inch alloy wheels to set it apart from the outgoing model. Similarly, the rear profile bears a new taillamp design, bumper, etc. All in all, the overall silhouette is almost similar to the old model, but there are subtle new elements which tell the onlookers that this is a new model. There are also new colour options and two variants – Motion and Ultra.
Interior and Features Comparison
The first thing the host mentions is that the new Swift gets all four power windows, whereas the older model has manual roll-down windows at the rear. That enhances the convenience for the rear passengers considerably. Visually, the new Swift has a contrasting dashboard with black and white elements. Moreover, there is a large touchscreen infotainment display on the dashboard in the new Swift in contrast to the outgoing version where it is integrated inside the dashboard. It gets traditional rectangular AC vents with modern toggle switches for HVAC controls. On the outgoing model, there were round vents with rotary knobs to control the temperature and fan settings.
There are also some chrome inserts inside the cabin which accentuate the overall appeal. Furthermore, the new Swift gets heated seats and a keyless push start/stop button as standard across the range. These are really some useful features which tell you that this is the modern Swift. Also, the new larger infotainment display has a new layout with functions like satellite navigation, driving information, radio, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple USB sockets, part-digital instrument controls, steering controls, ADAS functions and a spacious cabin. To conclude, the new Swift certainly boasts tons of new-age amenities to pamper the owners.

Specs Comparison
Now one crucial change to this new model is the new engine. Previously, there was a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder mild hybrid mill. However, the new Swift gets a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder mild hybrid which produces 83 hp and 113 Nm of peak power and torque. The buyers can choose between either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The fuel efficiency of the new engine is 8% better than the outgoing version. Apart from that, Suzuki has worked on ensuring that less engine and road noise enters the cabin this time around due to better insulation.
The host also shares the driving experience. The Swift has a slightly firmer suspension setup which ensures great handling and highway cruising. Despite that, the ride quality is decent. The small engine carries enough grunt for this hatchback which the owners will primarily use for city commutes. The transmission is smooth and easy to use. Finally, Suzuki has upgraded the active safety features to make them more efficient and accurate. Based on the customer feedback, the car now maintains less distance with the other car moving in front. Initially, customers had given this feedback because the distance was too much which caused frustration for other road users.
