For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest crash.
New Tata Safari Suffers Tyre Burst
This video comes from Prateek Singh on YouTube. This channel features content around road safety and car crashes. As per the information in this video, this incident emerges from the Bengaluru-Mysore highway. The owner purchased the top model of the Safari just a few days ago. While he was driving at around 80-90 km/h on the highway, the front right tyre of the SUV suddenly burst. Consequently, the vehicle toppled over a couple of times and ended up hitting a divider. All 6 airbags were deployed which ensured that no one was injured in this case.
Even the damage to the exterior of the Safari is not too severe. The front right section including the A-pillar, bonnet, bumper, fender, and body panels were affected. Still, the performance of the SUV is quite commendable. Unfortunately, the owner was disappointed with the RSA. They took forever to arrive at the scene and even charged money from him despite the fact that he had purchased the service from the dealership. All in all, he thanks Tata Motors for making a solid vehicle.
Reasons for Tyre Burst
While there could be a myriad reasons for tyre bursts, we are discussing a few top ones here.
- High Temperature – The most common reason for tyre burst, especially in a hot country like India, is the high temperatures. It causes the air inside the tyre to heat and expand. As a result, pressure is exerted against the rubber which can cause an explosion in some cases.
- Incorrect Tyre Pressure – Another common reason for tyre burst is high pressure. If you go to a local mechanic to fill the air in the tyre of your car, it is possible that they might not be experienced enough to know the recommended tyre pressure. Moreover, they could even have faulty instruments. Hence, they can overfill the tyres which can result in an explosion later on.
- Overspeeding with Old Worn-Out Tyre – A lot of people don’t take enough care about changing the tyres at the right time. If the treads of the tyre are too worn out and the driver overspeeds, the chances of tyre exploding are high. Hence, make sure to follow speed limits and change tyre whenever it is necessary.
- Manufacturing Defect – Finally, although it is uncommon, there can be manufacturing defects in the tyres of brand-new cars too. In such cases, the drivers usually can’t do anything since they are totally not expecting it. Still, driving at speed limits is crucial in all cases.
