BMW Z4 Set on Fire by Miscreants in Zomato Uniform
Around 2 a.m., two men wearing Zomato delivery attire and helmets arrived at the scene. CCTV footage clearly shows them standing near the brand-new BMW Z4, right outside the owner’s house. After surveying the surroundings and ensuring no one was watching, they poured petrol over the car. One of them can be seen opening a bottle and pouring fuel. Although the video suggests the presence of two individuals, only one is visible, leading to the possibility that the other was prepared with a getaway vehicle.
The identity of the person pouring the petrol remains unknown due to the helmet he was wearing. The bright blaze which erupted on ignition indicates use of a highly flammable substance such as petrol. Subsequently, the miscreants left the scene. Both culprits were dressed in uniforms resembling those of food delivery agents from Tomato. As of now, no arrests have been made in this case. The BMW owner has filed a complaint with the police, who are examining the CCTV footage. The owner, who operates an IT company in Mohali, was at work when he got a call about his car being on fire. He promptly informed the fire department. Fortunately, his neighbours and family members could quickly extinguish the fire using sand and water by the time the fire department arrived. The car owner claims to have no known enemies and is baffled by the attack.

Front Section of Sportscar Suffers from Heavy Damage
From the looks of it, only the left front ender, alloy wheel, and tire of the BMW Z4 have been damaged in the fire. The BMW Z4 sDrive 20i seen in the video has an ex-showroom price of Rs 71.90 lakhs. This should translate into an on-road price of approximately Rs 90 lakhs. Powering this Z4 is a 2.0-liter twin-turbo petrol engine generating 194 Bhp and 320 Nm. The motor works in tandem with an 8-speed automatic transmission that drivers the rear wheels. In all probability, the miscreants in the Zomato uniform weren’t actual delivery agents. They were likely using the attire to conceal their identities. Such incidents of damaging others’ vehicles due to jealousy have been reported in the past, raising concerns about the need for increased security measures.
