The manufacturers call the X7 as a (Sports Activity Vehicle) which is available in both petrol and diesel engines
The German manufacturers, BMW has managed to sell the units for 2019 of their recently launched X7. The sports activity vehicle (SAV) was launched alongside their flagship sedan, 7 series.
BMW X7 sits above the X5 and is available in both petrol and diesel engine. The SAV prices start from Rs 90.9 lakh for the base diesel trim and the top model which is a petrol trim costs Rs 1.05 Crore. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
Talking about the engines then the X7 receives a 3.0-litre, six cylinder, inline turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor churns out a whopping 225 bhp on tap with 450 Nm of peak torque while the diesel produces a mere 262 bhp but a greater 620 Nm of peak torque.

Both the engines gets mated to an 8-speed dual clutch gearbox which also gets paddle shifters and a sports mode. Dimension wise, the SAV measures 5,151 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, 1,805 mm in height and gets 3,105 mm of wheelbase.
The SAV is popular in the Indian market due to its beefier stance. The vehicle also gets detailed sharper element and lines all across the body. It follows the latest signature grille design which is now larger in size.
Also, the slim LED headlamps with BMWs laser light technology. The larger air dams gets a thick chrome around them and the rear of the SAV gets an attractive looking set of LED taillights which are connected by a strip of chrome. The rear bumper too receives chrome elements.
The flagship SUV from BMW also gets twin 12.3-inch screen in the cabin – one being the instrument cluster and other is a touchscreen infotainment system. The gear lever receives bits of glass and the same is observed on the iDrive controller.

The feature list on the BMW flagship SAV includes five-zone climate control, park assist, ambient lighting, three piece glass sunroof, and gets reclining function for all three rows. The petrol trim lacks the rear entertainment package and also gets a four zone climate control.
Safety features on the SAV include Nine Airbags, Seat Belt Reminder, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ISOFIX mount child seats, Anti Lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Force Distribution.
It also receives Brake Assist, Torque on demand, Electronic Stability Program, Traction Control System, Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold Control, Differential Lock and among safety features.
The X7 petrol trim is brought into the country via CBU (Completely Built Up) route and the diesel engine via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. At this price tag, the SAV competes with the likes of Mercedes Benz GLS, Audi Q7 and Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
