The facelifted version of the the mighty BMW M5 sedan was spotted at the recent BMW Experience event held in Chennai at the Madras Motorsports Track. The event which is meant to showcase BMW vehicles’ driving and safety prowess is where a menacing matte black BMW M5 facelift made an appearance along with the BMW India’s entire line-up. The vehicle should be available sometime in 2014 by November and should retail for around Rs 1.3 Crores (estimated).
The BMW M5 facelift, part of the model’s Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) or in simpler terms a mid-life refresh, does not bring any significant updates. Design wise the updated version gets new adaptive LED headlamps, a slightly tweaked kidney grille with a redesigned front bumper complimented by a redesigned bumper at the rear and LED tail lamps. On the inside the BMW M5 facelift gets a new steering wheel design along with an updated i-Drive system.
There are no mechanical updates to the BMW M5 facelift as the same monstrous 4.4-litre V8 seen on the outgoing model can be found lurking under the hood. The engine puts out 560 BHP with a maximum torque rating of 678 Nm at just 1500 rpm and is coupled to a 7 speed M Dual Clutch gearbox.
