The performance-packed sedan gets a whopping 625 bhp of power under the hood.
The M Series of BMW always speaks of the performance under the hood and the german manufacturers have launched the M5 Competition in India at a price tag of Rs 1.55 crores 9ex-showroom).
At this price point, the India spec version of the BMW M5 Competition competes with the likes of Audi RS7 and Mercedes E63 S AMG. The performance-packed sedan comes as a CBU (completely built-up unit) and is available at all dealerships in the country.
The M5 competition packs a total of 625 bhp which is more than 30 bhp than the regular BMW M5. It gets a peak torque of 750 Nm and can do 0-100 km/h sprint in a mere 3.3 seconds. Transmission option includes an 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox. This gearbox features extremely short shifting timings and numerous shifting options from very athletic and dynamic to comfortable and fuel-efficient.

Speaking about the design of the new BMW M5 competition, it gets signature M Kidney grille, M side air vent with M5 designation and it also gets a custom made roof which is made from high strength carbon fiber reinforced plastic.
The bootlid sees Competition lettering with the black M5 badge giving it its signature look. Also, an optional laminated M5 Competition designation at the side skirt is also available.
Talking about the interiors of this M5 Competition then the sedan receives M Multifunction sport seats with illuminated M5 logo. The multi-function steering wheel gets M embelom and chrome detailing. The M specific sporty pedals and foot rest in stainless steel are carry forwarded. A new red start/stop button comes with the Competition Pack.
The M5 competition comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a larger 12.3-inch instrument cluster. The ‘M Competition’ graphic appears at the start of the instrument console. It gets Gesture control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Heads up display, 3D Navigation, Harman Kardon system with 16 speakers and many others.

The safety features on the new BMW M5 Competition includes head and side airbags for driver and front passenger as well as head airbags for rear seats as standard. It also gets Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Automatic Stability Control (ASC), M Dynamic Mode (MDM), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dry Braking function and Active M Differential. DSC with M xDrive further enhances the safety aspect.
