BMW has finally realized the importance of entry level cars which are low on budget and still manage to offer some good features. As far as the Indian market is concerned the German automaker is considering launching its BMW 1 Series and Mini sub-brand soon.
Although no timeframe has been decided for the same, it is expected to take nearly an year to bring it to reality. The importance of these new launches lies in the fact that they would fall in the price band of around and below Rs.20 lakh which is a great thing for Indian buyers.
Andreas Schaaf, President of BMW India has reportedly said ,” The company was re-looking at both BMW Mini and One-Series cars for launching in India” He added, “We had thought about launching these cars a couple of years ago but decided that the Indian market was not ready for such products”
Now that BMW has become the ultimate luxury car seller the consideration of launching these new cars was bound to come.

Talking about the successful models of the range we start with the 130i top end model which is powered by a 3.0 litre, 6-cylinder engine producing 285 HP of maximum power and 315 Nm of maximum torque. The same accelerates from 0 – 100 km/hr in 6.1 seconds with an achievable top speed of 250 km/h.
The top of the range diesel model123d is equipped with a 2.0 litre, 4-cylinder motor producing 204 HP of maximum power and 400 Nm of maximum torque. The same makes it print from 0 -1 00 km/hr in 7 second with an achievable top speed of 238 km/h.
BMW 1 Series Price In India
The 1 Series is expected to be priced between Rs.17.5 to Rs. 27 Lakh.
