BMW Motorrad unveiled the G310R at EICMA 2015. The manufacturer will commence its Indian operations by launching this streetnaked later this year. Production of the G310R will take place at the Hosur-based TVS plant. Local manufacturing should enable BMW to price the bike really competitively. BMW Motorrad has also come up with a new dual-purpose adventure model on the G310R’s platform. The BMW G310GS is also India-bound and will make its debut at the fast-approaching Auto Expo 2018. The G310R is already being manufactured at the TVS’ production facility. The G310GS too will be manufactured by TVS locally. The production of the upcoming G310R-based adventure bike will have high localization levels. This should lead to a competitive price.

BMW G310GS Engine and Transmission
Powering the TVS BMW G310GS adventure bike will be a new 313cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine is likely to have a max. power of 33 PS and a peak torque of 30 Nm. The torque will be higher than that on the G310R. This will ensure that the upcoming BMW adventure bike is sufficiently capable off the road. Fuel mileage is likely to be in tune of 35 KMPL. Expect a top speed of around 140 KMPH.
BMW G310GS Suspension & Brakes
The BMW G310R-based adventure bike will offer spot-on ergonomics and a comfortable riding posture. Front will get a long travel suspension while the rear will get a monoshock suspension. Kerb weight is likely to be around 160 KGs. The bike will be built around a tubular steel chassis. Braking is likely to come from a 300mm disc brake at front and a 240mm disc brake at the rear.
