BMW is accelerating its e-mobility concept and plans to introduce 25 fully electric car or hybrid models by 2023.
German manufacturer BMW has fastened the process of marketing 25 electric or hybrid cars by the year 2023. The earlier plan for the same was 2025 but now the process has been accelerated by two years and the BMW will launch a variety of electric car.
This action is taken in because the sale of BMW electrified electric car will climb up by 30% per year by 2025. BMW plans to push the e-mobility expansion and bring more cars to the market with long driving range and new age technologies.
Harald Kruger, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG said, “We are moving up a gear in the transformation towards sustainable mobility, thereby making our company fit for the future: Over the past two years, we have consistently taken numerous decisions that we are now bringing to the roads. By 2021, we will have doubled our sales of electrified vehicles compared with 2019,”

He further added, Our vision is clear: sustainable mobility, produced in a sustainable manner. We have set ourselves the goal of only buying electricity from renewable energy sources for all our locations worldwide from 2020.
The #NEXTGen concept from BMW will showcase the next generation of mobility and the company’s step in that direction. The BMW Vision M Next will provide a show of electrified sportscar. This will be an ultimate drivers car as it focuses on the manoeuvrability of the car and with the intelligent technology, it focuses.
The Vision M Next carries ‘ease’ and ‘boost’ features which will be showcased in its autonomous cars. BMW also plans that by the end of 2019, they aim to have more than half a million vehicles with all-electric or plug-in hybrid drive trains on the road.
From 2020, BMW plug-in hybrid will feature new eDrive zone function which recognizes the green zones in cities that are reserved for emission free driving. Cars fitted with that function will drive fully in electric mode when passing by those areas.
As of now, the BMW all-electric car is just the i3 which saw its launch in 2014 and no new car hasn’t been launched till now. But now the carmaker will add a few electric vehicles like a BMW iX3 – all-electric SUV, an all-electric sedan BMW i4 and a crossover named iNEXT to name a few.

With the BMW’s new flexible vehicle structure it manages to produce the same series cars for different powertrains that are fully electric, plug-in hybrid and gasoline engines on the same production line.
