BMW 330D Officially Launched – Specifications, Features and Price In India
BMW has a gradually expanding car line-up in India of which the most popular model is the BMW 3 Series. We see this four door sedan very often on the roads and soon we would also get to see convertible version of the same.
It certainly is very exciting as at one of the recent event organized by BMW itself, it confirmed that they are planning to launch a convertible model of the successful 3-Series. The company has said that initially they are going to introduce a diesel variant of the convertible model, the BMW 330d.
The 330d equips a 3.0 Liter, 6 cylinder diesel engine with single turbocharger and together they are capable of developing 245 BHP of max power and a whopping 520 Nm of peak torque. Coupled with the engine is a 7 speed double clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The car’s performance figures are impressive as well. The car sprints from from 0 – 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and has a top speed of 245 km/hr. The car is a three piece system where the roof folds completely in a quick 22 seconds and fits into the boot thereby reducing the overall capacity from 350 liters to 140 liters.
As per the German automaker the launch is supposed to happen in 2012, maybe at the 2012 Auto Expo, and initially it will come via the CBU route which means it’s price will definitely be high. The climate here has never favored such convertible cars but they are worth riding once in a while.
