The popular compact sedan bears a complete departure in terms of the aesthetics from the current Swift, as well as the outgoing Dzire
The new Maruti Dzire has been spotted in black colour in real life. The latest 4th-generation model of the mighty successful sedan has a new design and powertrain in comparison to the last-gen version. That makes it even more desirable (no pun intended!). Holding the title of one of the highest-selling vehicles in the country ever, the Dzire features aims to establish its own identity with its latest version. A key improvement in this regard is its recent 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. That makes it the first Maruti Suzuki car to have ever bagged that score. For now, let us take a look at the details of this vehicle.
New Maruti Dzire in Black Colour
This video stems from Anurag Choudhary on YouTube. The visuals capture the new sedan parked at a quiet location. At the front, the sleek LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and the massive grille area with black material ooze adventurous vibes. I particularly like the piano black section between the headlamps. On the sides, the exterior of the new Dzire is enhanced by elegant alloy wheels and a chrome belt running underneath the window frames. Finally, the tail end contains a shark fin antenna, a boot lip spoiler, a thick chrome slab connecting the arrow-shaped LED taillamps and a sturdy bumper. The black colour really suits the sporty attributes of the new Maruti Dzire.
Even the interiors look fresh and welcoming with tons of new-age elements. The new Maruti Dzire borrows its powertrain options from the current Swift. This means that it has a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E naturally aspirated petrol engine with mild hybrid technology which generates a healthy 82 PS and 112 Nm of peak power and torque. Performing the transmission duties is either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The mileage figures stand at a jaw-dropping 24.8 km/l with the manual and 25.75 km/l with the AMT. Note that there will also be a CNG mill on offer which is good for 70 PS and 102 Nm. It offers a mileage of an impressive 33.73 km/kg.

My View
The new Maruti Dzire has achieved something no Maruti car ever has – a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. That, along with the new fuel-efficient engine, availability of modern-age tech and convenience amenities and a sleek new design, points towards the fact that it is likely to retain its dominance in this space despite stiff competition from its rivals in times to come. Dzire has always been a market leader in this category and it looks like no one is taking away the bragging rights from it any time soon.
